At times our own light goes out
and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude
of those who have lighted the flame within us.

The Greatest Christmas Gift : Compassion

This etching of 3 yr old Cole Aden
was a gift
hand carved and printed
by his
 Uncle Chris..
(the photo does not do the etching justice)
 Grandson Cole Aden
just this year realized the whole Santa thing
 but what Cole Aden
did made us
 All
realize
"Innocent Children"
can lead us in
 the real meaning of Christmas

Cole Aden & family came for Sunday Supper
 Cole Aden seemed quiet so
I went and quietly talked to him
asking "why, was he sad"?
He replied" did Santa come see You"?

I said "no" Santa comes for "little " boys & girls
and since I didn't have any "little"  boys & girls
Santa didn't leave presents at our house.
I explained that once his Daddy was "my little boy "
and indeed Santa arrived on Christmas
but now that He/Daddy was his Daddy
Santa just flew on by..
Not wanting to go any deeper into this conversation
I rose up and walked to kitchen
and joined the other
 Adults at the table.
 The next thing we knew
this loving , adorable, compassionate
 3 yr old
 brought over to me
his
"most cherished Christmas gift"
and when I smiled and said what is this
 Cole Aden smiled really big
and said
 "for You"
 since Santa didn't come...
And that folks is the true meaning of Christmas
Compassion for Others

  2. Love the etching, and look forward to seeing it in person. The innocence of children is one of God's greatest gifts to all of us. Makes you sit back and think that is for sure. Love the story and of course just goes to show you how much Cole loves his NaNa and PaPa.
